Token anatomy

Who holds the supply and how they got it: top holders, the dev, bundles, snipers, insiders and fresh wallets. Every number has a definition, a threshold, a confidence level and a wallet you can check yourself.

Methodology

Version 1, 2026-10-18. Any change to a definition or threshold bumps the version.

Top 10 holders

Share of supply held by the 10 largest wallets. Accounts controlled by programs (liquidity pools, bonding curves, lockers) and burn addresses are not counted.

Threshold
caution from 30%, high from 50%
Confidence
High: balances are read straight from the chain.

Dev wallet

Share of supply held today by the wallet that signed and paid for the token creation transaction.

Threshold
caution from 5%, high from 15%
Confidence
High when the creation transaction names the creator. Medium when it comes from RugCheck.

Bundles

Wallets that received the token in the same block as the creation transaction (certain), or a group of at least 3 buyers in one block within 10 blocks of launch (probable).

Threshold
caution from 5%, high from 15%
Confidence
High for the launch block, medium for groups in later blocks (they can be independent bots).

Snipers

Wallets that bought themselves within 10 s of token creation and are not a bundle or the dev.

Threshold
caution from 5%, high from 15%
Confidence
High: block time is a fact. A sniper is not necessarily linked to the dev.

Insiders

Wallets linked to the dev: their first SOL came from the dev or the dev sent them the token (certain), or they share the dev's funding source (probable).

Threshold
caution from 5%, high from 15%
Confidence
High for direct transfers, medium for a shared source (it can be an exchange we do not know).

Fresh wallets

Wallets with at most 20 transactions in their whole history and a first transaction no more than 14 days ago.

Threshold
caution from 10%, high from 25%
Confidence
High, because the whole wallet history is checked. A fresh wallet is a signal, not proof.

What exactly we read

Solana: we read the 20 largest token accounts, the creation transaction and the first 40 successful transactions after it (searched within at most 4000 transactions), and for every top wallet its history up to 21 transactions and its first SOL transfer. Source: Solana RPC; when the token's history is too long, RugCheck names the creator.

Base and BNB Chain: top holders and the creator share come from GoPlus. Bundles, snipers, insiders and fresh wallets are not computed for EVM yet.

Accounts controlled by programs are not counted: on Solana these are addresses off the ed25519 curve (PDAs), i.e. liquidity pools, bonding curves and lockers. Wallets funded from the hot wallets of large exchanges do not form a cluster, because a shared exchange does not mean a shared owner.

Percentages cover the top holder wallets, so they are a lower bound: small wallets outside the top are not counted. The range shows the result for certain wallets and for certain plus probable ones. These are signals for your own checks, not a verdict and not financial advice.
