Key takeaways

  • According to the docs, creating a token on four.meme costs about 0.005 BNB in network fees. Every token has a 1 billion supply
  • On the bonding curve the fee is 1% per trade with a 0.001 BNB minimum, so small trades pay a higher percentage
  • The curve completes at about 18 BNB. A PancakeSwap pool is then created, holding 20% of the tokens and the funds raised
  • Tax tokens charge 1, 3, 5 or 10% per trade, including after migration. The rate cannot be changed after the token is created
  • Gas on BNB Smart Chain is paid in BNB. Without BNB in your wallet you cannot sell a token, however much of it you hold
  • The MEMECOINY risk report for BNB Chain is based on GoPlus: honeypot, taxes, owner privileges. EVM trading in the terminal is disabled

BNB Smart Chain in brief: the EVM, blocks and gas in BNB[3]

BNB Smart Chain, or BSC, is fully compatible with the EVM, according to the BNB Chain docs. In practice the same kind of wallet works here as on Ethereum or Base, such as MetaMask, and a token's address is a contract address starting with 0x.

Network fees, or gas, are paid in BNB. The docs give a network-wide standard gas price of 0.05 Gwei and a typical transaction fee of around US$0.005 or less. A new block is produced roughly every 0.45 seconds.

The key practical consequence: every action, including a sell and an approve, needs a little BNB in your wallet. Someone holding tokens but no BNB cannot exit until they top up.

How four.meme works: creating a token and the bonding curve[1]

Four.meme is a memecoin launchpad on BNB Chain. According to its docs, creating a token costs about 0.005 BNB, just the transaction fee, and the launch is otherwise free. The supply of every memecoin from the launchpad is preset to 1 billion.

Trading starts at once on a bonding curve: the launchpad's contract sets the price, not a DEX pool. The docs do not describe the curve's formula, only its end point, so we give no starting prices here. The rule is the same as on any curve: each buy raises the price and each sell lowers it.

The creator can choose the asset the token trades against: BNB, USDT, USD1, UUSD or bStocks. With pairs other than BNB, fees and the migration threshold are counted in another asset, so check the pair before comparing numbers.

Fees on four.meme and after migration to PancakeSwap[1][4][2]

On the bonding curve four.meme charges 1% per trade, with a 0.001 BNB minimum. The minimum matters for small amounts: on a 0.05 BNB buy, 1% is 0.0005 BNB, so you pay the 0.001 BNB minimum, effectively 2%. Gas comes on top.

After migration you pay the PancakeSwap pool fee. According to the PancakeSwap docs, V2 pools charge a fixed 0.25%, of which 0.17% goes to liquidity providers, 0.0225% to the PancakeSwap treasury and 0.0575% to CAKE buyback and burn. V3 pools have four tiers: 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25% and 1%. The four.meme docs do not say which version the migration pool uses, so check it on the token page or in the route details on PancakeSwap.

If the token is a tax token, add its tax on top of both fees above, before and after migration.

  • Creating a token: about 0.005 BNB in network fees
  • Bonding curve: 1% per trade, minimum 0.001 BNB
  • PancakeSwap V2: 0.25% (LPs 0.17%, treasury 0.0225%, CAKE buyback 0.0575%)
  • PancakeSwap V3: 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25% or 1% depending on the pool
  • Tax token: an extra 1, 3, 5 or 10% per trade

Graduation: when a token moves to PancakeSwap[1]

According to the four.meme docs, the curve reaches 100% at about 18 BNB raised from buyers. A PancakeSwap pool paired with those 18 BNB is then created. For other pairs, 20% of the tokens and all funds raised go into the pool.

From then on an AMM pool sets the price, not the launchpad's curve. Who can sell, and how easily, changes too: every holder sells into the same pool, and its depth depends on how much liquidity the migration created and how much was added later.

The four.meme docs we opened do not say what happens to that pool's LP tokens: whether they are burned, locked or held by someone. So do not assume the liquidity is locked. Check the LP lock row in the risk report for the specific token.

Tax tokens on four.meme: what the creator sets[2]

A tax token takes a share of every eligible trade. On four.meme the creator picks the rate when creating the token: 1%, 3%, 5% or 10%. According to the docs, all parameters are locked at creation and enforced by the protocol, so the rate cannot be raised later. The tax applies on the bonding curve and stays active after graduation.

The creator splits the tax proceeds across four destinations that must total 100%: a designated wallet such as a treasury, dividends for holders above a minimum balance, burning tokens, and automatically adding liquidity to the pool. Dividends are paid only once rewards reach US$1,000, once a day at 00:00 UTC+8.

The docs also mention an Anti-Sniping option in Free Mode: when enabled, high fees apply in the first few blocks after the token is created. Tax tokens require Free Mode and are not supported in X Mode.

How four.meme differs from pump.fun[1][2][3]

The mechanism is similar: a token starts on a bonding curve and moves to a regular pool once the curve is bought out. The network, the DEX and what the creator can set are different. Pump.fun runs on Solana and migrates to PumpSwap; four.meme runs on BNB Smart Chain and migrates to PancakeSwap.

Pump.fun publishes a curve fee of which part goes to the creator, and documents that the LP is burned after migration. The four.meme docs give a single 1% rate with a minimum in BNB and do not describe what happens to the LP. On the other hand, four.meme has tax tokens, a tax at the token level that can outlast migration. Pump.fun has no such option.

The technical checks differ as well. On Solana you ask about the mint authority and freeze authority; on BNB Chain you ask what the contract and its owner can do: mint, change balances, pause, blacklist, upgrade through a proxy. Our separate guide on how pump.fun works covers pump.fun in detail.

Risks: taxes, honeypots, copycats and snipers[2][3]

A honeypot is a token you can buy but cannot sell, or can sell only at the cost of almost the whole amount. On the EVM such a block lives in the contract code, often next to functions that let the owner change the tax, blacklist an address or pause transfers.

A ticker does not identify a token. One symbol can have many contracts on BNB Chain and other networks, and the name is free text. The only identifier is the full 0x contract address, compared with the project's official channel.

Snipers are bots that buy in the first blocks after a token is created, to sell to later buyers. With a block roughly every 0.45 seconds, the first seconds after launch belong to automation, not people. Four.meme's Anti-Sniping option makes such buys more expensive, but it is optional, so not every token has it.

  • Honeypot: you can buy, but not sell
  • Tax: 1 to 10% on four.meme, arbitrary and changeable in unknown contracts
  • Copycat: the same ticker, a different contract address
  • Sniper: a bot buying in the first blocks
  • Dump after graduation: large holders sell into the fresh PancakeSwap pool

How to check a BNB Chain token on MEMECOINY

The BNB Chain market page shows trending tokens in the order set by GeckoTerminal, not our rating, and a new-launch radar with “Chain / DEX”, “Contract”, “Age” and “Market” columns. The full risk report is on the token page.

The token page shows market cap, liquidity, 24h volume, transaction count and pair age, and under “Key information” the DEX and pair the data comes from. That tells you whether you are looking at the PancakeSwap pool or another pair of the same token.

The risk report for EVM contracts uses GoPlus. It has the “Honeypot”, “Trading restrictions”, “Buy tax”, “Sell tax”, “Owner can mint”, “Owner can modify balances”, “Owner privileges”, “Proxy contract”, “Verified source”, “Holder concentration” and “Liquidity lock (LP)” rows. When GoPlus returns no data, a row shows “no data”, not a green result.

Trading EVM tokens in the MEMECOINY terminal is disabled: quotes are informational and execution does not work. Trading on Solana is a closed beta for invited testers with a 0.75% MEMECOINY fee per swap. You can still rehearse a BNB Chain token with the “Paper trade” button on a virtual portfolio, with no real funds.

A worked example on a hypothetical token

The numbers below are hypothetical. They show how to compute fees, not how any real token will behave. We leave out price impact, slippage and gas. We assume the tax is charged on the trade's value and that the migration pool is PancakeSwap V2.

Hypothetical numbers, not market data

You buy TOKEN on the four.meme bonding curve for 1 BNB. The 1% fee is 0.01 BNB. TOKEN is a tax token with a 5% tax, so another 0.05 BNB of value goes to the destinations the creator chose. After graduation you sell TOKEN for 1 BNB in a V2 pool: the 0.25% fee is 0.0025 BNB, and the 5% tax is again 0.05 BNB. Getting in and out costs 0.1125 BNB in total, 11.25% of the 1 BNB, before the price moves at all. The same buy for 0.05 BNB would pay the 0.001 BNB minimum on the curve, 2% instead of 1%.
