Ape
Also: aping, ape in
To ape, literally to act like an ape, means buying without thinking. Someone sees green candles, a post from a well-known account or a Telegram message and buys within seconds, without checking the contract address, the liquidity or the holder distribution. People say they “aped into” a new token.
In a market where prices move by tens of percent in a minute, speed feels like an advantage. In practice haste is the main reason people buy copycats, honeypots and tokens whose creator is waiting for buyers to sell into. Aping is an attitude, not a strategy, and it usually ends with a purchase at the top of a short pump.
