Also: key opinion leader, influencer, caller

A KOL, or key opinion leader, is a crypto account with a large following on X, Telegram or YouTube whose post can lift a small token's price within minutes. Callers, channels that post token addresses “to buy”, belong to the same group.

The typical pattern goes like this: the KOL buys early or receives tokens, posts something enthusiastic, followers buy, and the KOL sells into their buying. On-chain analysts regularly expose promoter wallets that sell right after a post.
