Wallet drainer

Also: drainer

A wallet drainer is a scammer's tool dressed up as an ordinary site: an airdrop claim, an NFT mint, a new swap app or a “wallet verification” page. After you connect your wallet, the site asks for a signature that looks harmless but actually moves your tokens or gives the site permission to spend them. On EVM networks this is often an unlimited approval or a permit signature; on Solana, a transaction that transfers many tokens at once.

Drainers do not need your seed phrase: one signature is enough. Links to them arrive in direct messages, replies under popular posts, search ads and hijacked accounts of well-known projects.
